'Altogether these virtuoso performers presented a concert stunning in its impact with music absolutely fitting the pomp and joy of the occasion.  Scarcely can the venerable space ever have resonated with more thrilling sound.  The moods of the four movements of Scheidt’s Battle Suite were finely distinguished, the Canzonetto blazing, the Galliard jolly, the Courant doleful, and the Bergamasue glorious. Pure Brass lightened the mood to end the programme with four works by Jim Parker, entitled the Golden Section. The Bullfight was Spanish in flavour, La Parade amusing, Dejeuner sur L’Herbe languid, Night Hawks raucous, squawky and drunken, all good fun.'

'On Saturday afternoon Pure Brass, a quintet of gifted young musicians from Glasgow playing under the auspices of Live Music Now, presented a widely varied sequence of pieces ranging from the 17th century to Peter Maxwell Davies and Irvine Berlin.

Their versatility and good humour place them almost beyond praise for a display of ingenious and infectious music making.'

'Thank you very much for the super concert you did for our children. Every child enjoyed the concert. The children were all engaged from P1 to P7 and the music and presentation were super and exactly at the right level for the children's interest and ability. This is the best concert we have had from a visiting group for a long time. The children have continued to talk about it enthusiastically and I suspect it will be something they will remember for a very long time'
